Give a brief understanding of passive windows
If the quality of doors and windows is poor, not only can they not block the sound of rain outside the window, but indoor heat will also flow out directly from the doors and windows. Therefore, a good window can be considered a building partner, and it needs to have many excellent properties such as insulation, heat insulation, and noise reduction. Of course, for passive rooms known for their constant temperature, humidity, and quietness, the design of doors and windows is more crucial. Today we will talk about passive room partners and passive windows.
What is a passive window? Although passive windows do not differ significantly from regular windows in appearance, they differ from regular windows in design and installation. Passive window is an integrated system that includes a unique external installation method, a special new energy-saving subframe system, pre compressed expansion cotton, waterproof and gas blocking film, waterproof and vapor permeable film, window sill panels, etc. It requires scientific calculation and selection of protective measures such as no thermal bridge and airtight according to actual engineering conditions. The degree of integration between passive windows and passive buildings is much greater than that between ordinary windows and buildings.
According to the research results of the institute, the passive windows of passive rooms need to meet the following four characteristics:
1. Low energy three-layer glass or equivalent products;
2. Warm edges and high insulation performance;
3. High insulation window frame;
4. Optimized wall installation method.
Only when the passive window meets these conditions can it achieve greater insulation, noise reduction, and waterproofing effects.
Passive window technical parameter requirements: The effective U-value of the window is Uw=0.80W/(m ² K), and the temperature of the connection node cannot be more than 3 degrees lower than the indoor temperature. Therefore, the effective U-value can only be determined based on the environmental foundation of each region.
Passive windows have little difference in material compared to regular windows. Passive window systems can be divided into passive aluminum system windows, passive aluminum clad wood system windows, passive high-performance PVC system windows, passive wooden cable system windows, and passive entrance doors.
